Chantasana ~ shanti peace practice

In honor of 9/11, all my public yoga classes will center around a unique style of practicing I am calling, Chantasana.  Available to all levels of practitioner, Chantasana is a unique melding of chant & sound practices with deeply mindful vinyasa, asana and meditation. These practices are inspired by my studies with the late TKV Desikachar, influenced further over the years by my own experiences with sound, chant, and yoga in the western world.  We will utilize the sanskrit word, shanti, throughout practice this week.

I've usually snuck these practices in so y'all don't run away scared, but I've come to the conclusion that you can handle it! Furthermore, if I've interpreted your feedback correctly, many of you are longing for this depth, this freshness, this expansion into your posture practice.  These practices break us away from fear, align us with our truth, so we may both speak up boldly and drop inward deeply.  These practices feel very necessary in our current climate..
